Intercultural Businesses School
Intercultural Business training offers a way to broaden our perspective at the work place, social clubs or the sports field. While engaging with our own culture allows us to recognize ourselves and perhaps those around us, a significant portion remains hidden. Our blind spot grows the less we confront it and open ourselves to the cultural diversity around us.

-
Why do you work the way you do?
-
Why do you raise your children this way and not another?
-
Why do you dress in certain colours for this event, and why do you cover your hair at all?
-
Do you understand what I mean?
-
Or are you simply smiling politely because it's customary in your culture?

This is the great new problem of mankind. We have inherited a large house, a great 'world house' in which we have to live together- black and white, Easterner and Westerner, Gentile and Jew, Catholic and Protestant, Muslim and Hindu- a family unduly separated in ideas, culture and interest, who, because we can never again live apart, must learn somehow to live with each other in peace.
Martin Luther King, Jr.’s book Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community? (1967)

Fear has never been a good adviser, neither in our personal lives nor in our society. Cultures and societies that are shaped by fear, will without doubt not get a grip on the future.”
Angela Merkel

What is intercultural Training?
Intercultural training specifically in workplace and social settings helps to question narrow-minded views and to consciously engage with one's own culture and background. In our globalized world, it is an indispensable tool for empowerment and shared growth, fostering greater cohesion and respectful interaction in both work and life.

Lovestory's Intercultural Business School assist you in the development of social and diplomatic skills to interact effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds. The focus is on building awareness of cultural norms, communication styles, and values in order to navigate differences. The goal is to reduce misunderstandings and improve collaboration in diverse settings.

Lovestory´s Intercultural Business School
In Malawi, we are going to launch our first intercultural business course. We bring together 8 German students and 8 Central African students to live, learn, and work together on the Lovestory Coffee Estate. Through shared daily life, they will gain the ability to confront their own cultural challenges and misconceptions. This safe and supportive environment allows our trainees to build meaningful friendships and openly discuss cultural concepts that may affect their lives back in their home communities.

Core topics addressed in the Training are:
-
Submersion in a different culture. Cultural Shocks, does and don't “Thriving and become victories in Self-reflection"
-
Cross-cultural living, “Hygiene, self-care, preparing and eating local foods”
-
Working in a diverse environment and standing as communicative leader between cultural differences in the work-team
-
Cross cultural relationships: friendships, dating, sexual practices and setting boundaries
-
Religion and Spirituality in different cultures
-
Re-entry getting back to your new old life

Intercultural training, a must for every employee, manager, and team.
Both - personally and professionally.
Only through bridge building and the humble willingness to question one's own culture can space be created for personal and professional growth and sustainable success.
As Lovestory, we offer tailor-made training courses and webinars for private, professional, and social purposes. Together we make the invisible visible.
Lovestory´s intercultural business school
"Immerse yourself in another world!"
Lovestory's Intercultural Business School is more than just a training course, it's a journey. A journey behind the façade of your own cultural lens.
Located high in the mountains of northern Malawi, in the heart of the Lovestory Coffee Estate in Livingstonia, Malawi, the estate offers exceptional views and a peaceful atmosphere.
From summer 2026, we will offer our program here: four intensive weeks where you live, work, and share a home with other international students from Germany and Central Africa. The best part? You'll build valuable and genuine relationships for life.
Packed with engaging theoretical units on intercultural competence, unconscious bias, stereotypes, and diversity, you'll learn to resolve misunderstandings. You will be involved in the learning of running an international coffee business, learning about importing and exporting coffee between Europe and Africa. You'll return to your daily life as a self-reflective expert, ready to apply what you've learned in a positive and appreciative way within your community.
What you can expect:
-
Together, we can understand how to communicate effectively despite differences.
-
Real-world experiences: Learn to appreciate a "bucket shower" while living "off-grid" on a farm. Enjoy naturally prepared food cooked over an open fire.
-
Step outside your comfort zone: You learn that the other culture is not "wrong", but simply different, with its own unique characteristics.
-
You will be part of the local community projects.
-
Assisting locals with financial guidance, with the skills you learn in the business course.
-
You will learn how to maintain a business abroad or in another country while you are traveling.
From "I" to "We":
Find new paths together, create unity and discover in sessions of self- and other-reflection who you really are and what drives you.
-
Deep connections: Evening rituals promote team building and weekly empowerment meetings with your mentors help you to solidify what you have learned and lovingly question your previous perspectives.
Above all, our motto is:
"It's not right, it's not wrong, it's certainly just different."
Are you ready to leave your comfort zone?
Are you up for the adventure of thinking outside your own environment? Then get ready for your personal journey of discovery!
